L-CARNITINE 500 mg - 60 plant-based capsules
In the body, L-carnitine is produced by lysine and methionine, a process in which vitamin C is crucial. Men have a greater need for carnitine than do women. There may be a relationship between carnitine deficiency and infertility, as carnitine promotes sperm agility.
L-carnitine lowers triglyceride concentrations in the blood and is beneficial against circulation disorders such as intermittent claudication. As it removes free fatty acids, it also protects against heart attacks. A deficiency can be discovered in the heart muscle in the event of a heart attack and tissue degeneration. May be used to combat muscular dystrophy and liver steatosis.
L-carnitine can be used as a dietary supplement for healthy people to reduce fat mass and increase muscle mass. Dr G. Bellinghieri of the University of Catania in Italy has concluded that L-carnitine combats fatigue and lowers lipid levels in the blood. The effectiveness of the amino acid L-carnitine is largely based on its role in the energy processes in the cell (Nutritional Neuroscience 2003; 6(3):189-96).
L-carnitine promotes muscular regeneration following strenuous physical activity. A recent study conducted in the USA has shown that L-carnitine, when taken as a dietary supplement, was instrumental in reducing biochemical markers for purine metabolism, the formation of free radicals, tears in muscle tissue and muscular stiffness following strenuous physical activity.
